Welcome to the random, eclectic world of rambles

From the shadowy recesses of consciousness and subconsciousness comes spilling out onto this page some thoughts and impressions of ~ who knows what.

Today at the Tate Modern I was struck by how much ART is now either an "ism" or an "ist".

And how curious that the art movements that set out to upset the status quo and, as often as not, stand conventional 'artistic values' on their head, eventually ended up becoming the new - albeit passing - 'status quo'. So all those "isms" that were revolutionary and reforming - the noisy, irreverent yells in the sanctury of High Art - wind up neatly defined and categorsied as just one more "ism"! Ironic!

Is your brain REALLY on fire - or is it just the effects of encontering all those "isms"?? ;-)
